On the lookout for entertaining customizable bedroom makeover tips which you could do to make a room very unique? The trick to a custom-made space makeover is to make a special area by integrating decoration that reflects the owner’s personality. In cases like this, we’re redesigning my son’s bedroom and I will share with you some advice and ideas we used to create his space unique. Ben is a teen and he enjoys soccer, (especially goal maintaining), the Beatles, and playing guitar. For colour, he asked his favourite soccer team’s colours: red and black, with stripes… wait. . .what? That is correct — you heard right — black and red stripes!
Now, for some history on the job… this is a birthday gift and we left it like an episode of TLC’s “While You Were Out.” Meaning my husband and I changed the entire area in 2 weeks while Ben was at soccer camp. Of course, we bought drapes, furnishings, and wall decor beforehand to be certain they came for the unveiling, however, all the painting furniture decorating and moving were performed in these two days!
Whenever I start decorating a space, I concentrate on a single thing or piece of artwork. In cases like this, I had a photograph of Ben playing football. I shot the photo so that his foot and the ball are revealing. For this I added a stunning paint filter in Photoshop, altered the colours to black, white, red, green and white, and published it. This is our starting point and also our very first customized decoration bit.
Then came the real challenge – that the black and red walls! We began with reddish, with Behr paint in the Home Depot. Red is a catchy colour that often requires at least two coats to cover the walls. For your dark stripes, we picked a wall and created really broad vertical stripes. To do so, we just lost two plumb lines taped across the lines and painted the black inside the tape. We picked black Ashley Furniture from J&J Discount at Spofford, NH for your mattress, dresser, and side dresser, a black bookcase, desk, and chair from Target, combined with a few lamps and black and red bedding. We chose black drapes from Bed, Bath, and Beyond, which included the entire black stripe influence on the walls. Hence that the color and furnishings are all complete.
Today for more ways to personalize… A fantastic alternative for custom wall decorating is a fathead out of Fathead.com. All these are vinyl wall stickers that may be as big as half an hour! We might have arranged a fathead of an expert football player, however, Fathead.com also lets you use your personal photographs. We picked a photo of Ben creating a target rescue. I included a cartoon effect (via Photoshop) and submitted it to Fathead.com and they took care of the remainder. They email you the fathead at a roster and you just unroll it, peel it, and stick it to the wall! Immediate wall decoration!
Another excellent spot for wall stickers is Artfire.com. We purchased a Beatles silhouette wall sticker for one more wall in Ben’s room. We put his two guitars straight under the decal for a comfy music nook.
To complete the space, we added small bits, like tacking Ben’s first set of goalie gloves into the wall, in addition to awards in middle school. Trophies were shelved from the bookcase and Beatles and football posters were wrapped around the rest of the walls. We left lots of free wall space to get a clutter-free sense and for future pursuits.
